Short Biography

My interest in being a counselor is hearing your story. Everyone has a narrative they tell themselves, and sometimes that narrative can be unhelpful, or even damaging to your wellbeing. As a psychotherapist, my job is to help you understand your story. Our goal will be to help author the next chapters of your life with more meaning, more purpose, and with the critical cognitive behavioral (CBT) tools to improve the narrative.

I hold a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English Literature, Communications, and Linguistics, both from the State University of New York at New Paltz. I have always been passionately drawn to the stories, language, and multicultural aspects of our identity. I have built my career in the continued study of our collective participation in art, culture, and communication. I am always learning from, and inspired by the nature of humanity that makes such self reflection possible.

In my work as a therapist, I utilize evidenced based strategies that promote a holistic and dynamic framework for therapy. I emphasize psychoeducation related to the brain and nervous system to provide reasons why we might want to escape our minds, bodies, and trauma. I will often integrate art and creative interventions to enhance the therapeutic experience. I specialize in addictions/eating disorders, emerging adulthood, spirituality, divorce, and pregnancy/parenthood. I will help address sensitive concerns that are existentially difficult to navigate.

I am excited to work with you as an artist, traveller, student, or any person at any age in a life transition. I have confidence we will connect and find meaning through our work in therapy. The next chapters of your life should be written so that you can evolve, laugh, and live more fully.
